PROPOLA HIVE BODY 

The Propola® hive restores the natural habitat your bees know and need.

With roughened interior surfaces, Propola facilitates the formation of a propolis envelope inside your beehive. This propolis-rich environment is a critical part of honey bees' natural defense against disease.

Less disease means stronger bees and more of them. The Propola hive has been shown to increase colony populations by up to 2 frames of bees per hive, leading to stronger colonies.

The hive body comes wax-dipped to provide long lasting protection without the hassle of painting.

Assembled and loaded with 10 double-waxed Pura® frames, your bees will have the best to work with right out of the box.

Our Premium Hive Kit single features the Apimaye Upgrade Kit for Wooden Hives including the Dual Feeder & Insulated Top Cover for easy convenient liquid feeding and versatility for feeding fondant, sugar bricks and pollen patties. The Apimaye Bottom board features entrance sliders for complete traffic control and built in mouse guard to keep those pesky critters out.

QUEEN RIGHT DIAL

The Queen Right Dial is an Award Winning innovation that quickly and easily lets beekeepers track and notate the status of a colony. Track the color/age of the queen and whether the colony is queen right, has a swarm cell or needs attention by quickly and easily turning the dial to the appropriate indicator. No more notes or forget fullness!

BEES

Featuring highly sought after genetics, The Nature's Image Farm, "Appalachian Mutt Bees" are known across the country for their frugal, gentle and prolific attributes.

These queens are truly unique and very special.  Over the years we have continually focused our breeding efforts by only selecting from the very BEST. Years ago our genetic backbone was heavily influenced by the feral mutt bee found expressing Carniolan x Italian x Buckfast characteristics and attributes. After years of selecting from colonies that had the LOWEST mite counts, HIGHEST winter survivorship, CALMEST behavior and most PROLIFIC yields, we chose to carefully introduce a special line of genetics. 

We crossed BREEDER QUEENS from our WINTER HARDY, GENTLE and PROLIFIC Ohio Queen lines with New World Carniolan x Caucasian genetic lines sourced from Bob Binnie/Sue Cobey. 

After crossing the Southern Appalachian line of BREEDER QUEENS with our Northern Appalachian line of BREEDER QUEENS we have been blown away with the results. Beautiful Queens with colonies that brood down in the fall, over winter with frugality, explode in the spring when the timing is right and maintain a prolificness rarely seen in other genetic lines.

Our Appalachian Mutt Queens exhibit characteristics such as cold hardiness, gentle disposition, darker in color (lighter coloration is possible), increased propolis and honey production and easy to work with.

Folks across the country have used our queens to also cool off spicy colonies and to introduce fresh genetics into their breeding operations. The coveted Pepto Pink line of queens is the line of Appalachian Mutt Queens we developed for Bruce Jenne in Alabama to help sooth the heartburn of his spicy colonies! IT WORKED!

NUCS

Hive Kit w Bees will consist of 5 Frame Nuc installed deep frames  having pollen, honey, all stages of brood & marked 2025 "Nature's Image Farm - Appalachian Mutt Queen". 

Available starting early June once Nucs are well established. Pickup at Nature's Image Farm in Hopewell, OH.  Nuc availability is weather dependent and filled in the order in which they were received.
