FILL. FLIP. FEED.
Keeping bees fed is a key component of building productive, healthy hives. The Nature's Image Farm Bucket Feeder allows for quick and easy feeding without opening the hive and can be easily adjusted to suit the feeding need of the colony. The Nature's Image Farm Bucket Feeder is a great tool to encourage the bees to draw comb, stimulate brood reading and can even be used to bulk up food storage.
LID INSTALLATION - Use a rubber mallet to properly secure lid to bucket. DO NOT REMOVE LID or remove tear tab once installed. While the initial fill can be done prior to securing lid, subsequent filling should take place with the lid secured and done so thru the lid opening. A canning jar funnel works great!
FILL- Bucket feeders should be nearly full leaving a 1/2"- 3/4" headspace. For first time
FLIP- Once filled, FLIP the bucket over and place over the feeding hole of the Nature's Image Farm Migratory Lid. When flipped, the bucket will create a vacuum and in doing so with trickle out feed temporarily from the plug until vacuum is achieved. If bucket continues to leak be sure that the lid and plug are properly secured.
FEED- Once flipped, the bucket now served as a trickle feeder by suspending syrup droplets from the Nature's Image Farm bucket plug. We recommend 3 holes for most feeding needs however extra plugs are available for you to adjust the plugs based on the needs of your bees. Flow rate of the plugs can be easily adjusted by simply drilling the preferred number of holes in the plug using a 1/16" drill bit. Additional plugs are available for purchase.
