American Chestnut

American Chestnut

Castanea dentata

While nearly wiped out of existence by 1940, our seedlings come from an old stand that has not been affected by blight. While we cant guarantee the blight resistance of these seedlings, We are excited about the possibility of restoring the legacy of these beautiful, nut producing trees. Chestnuts are highly prized for culinary use as well as forage for livestock including pigs.
